A Fulfilling Vacation

We’re back from Shanghai! It was a whirlwind trip – I can’t believe how much we packed into two days! Here are a few highlights.

It rained for the entire first day of our trip. I mean the ENTIRE day, and never any lighter than a very heavy drizzle. We made the best of it, checking out a few museums…

…and somehow managing to view Yu Garden in the rain…

…but we took considerably fewer pictures than a sunny day would have allowed. It did give me a good excuse to play Mary Poppins.

At night we went to ERA, a seriously fun acrobat show.

The weather was better yesterday, so we took a walk along the Bund…

…and took the hilarious sightseeing tunnel across the river to Pudong to check out the views from the top of the Oriental Pearl Tower. They had a glass observation deck – I was so scared!

To top off our trip, we walked around the French Concession, a beautiful (and huge) neighborhood with tree-lined streets and European architecture. It was so lovely that I failed to take pictures that captured its beauty – I was busy saving up memories instead! I’ll just have to come back. 🙂
